Have I ever introduced you to my big sister? Meet Antonia "Toni".....Even though I tower over her in height her life and comittment to the mental health industry makes her a giant... she works tirelessly to help children and young adults as a psychologist here in Nova Scotia, she is very well respected and would never boost about the changes she has made to so many families.... but that's what a sister is for right? ... 6 years ago I almost lost her as she was near death, for 10 days I sat by her hospital bed in the ICU while she was in medically induced a coma... and the fact that I had that awful experience makes me value her life and how precious and lucky I am to have her... we shouldnt wait to have those experiences.... pick up the phone, check in, tell them you love them now... dont have regrets... if you have a grandparent in your life, call them, take them for tea, ask them about stories from days past, and actually listen when they tell them... love your family if you are lucky to have them, or love the friends you consider family because "family" is not necessarily a blood thing...its a heart thing.... xo #sisters #love #family ... Today I spent my birthday reading a lot of amazing well wishes, while also being surrounded by so many amazing people.... I looked around the room tonight and saw so many paths I have taken in my life represented by so many souls, all converging in one place for one reason...for me, and I truly can not express my gratitude for that fully. I absolutely love my 40s , I have earned every F#$%ing notch on my life path, and I love every one of them.... I have no regrets as those are a waste of time... life is on borrowed time, for everyone, so I chose to live a life of happiness... maybe mine it isnt the same as your idea of happiness, maybe my choices surprise some... but for me... I love every road taken because they have taken me exactly to where I am today.... thank you for the messages, thank you for the texts, thank you for the love
